Kalam is the shortened name of Kalam Valley of Swat. This spacious and fertile valley is located 6,800 feet high from sea level. This fascinating valley is one neighbour of the River Swat that flows in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. This valley appeals to tourists for its numerous features. In the first place, it is the singing waterfalls, serene waters of lakes with magical colours, high mountains wearing green robes. Vegetation too adds to the aesthetic value of this valley. The sight of Falaksir peak with its snowy cap is an unforgettable experience. From the international airport of Islamabad, it takes the holidaymaker to cover 274 kilometres to reach this bewitching example of natural beauty. Its distance from the city of Bahrain is 18 miles.

The best thing to do here is to move around and explore the beauty. Ushu hill station is another feature of this magical valley of Kalam with a height of 7550 feet. Matiltan is a place in Kalam that allows a visitor to look at the highest peak of the area, Falaksir. Besides, this place is bestowed with beautiful glaciers. The beautiful trees there another attraction.

Several lakes here give you opportunities to spend a wonderful time there. Kundal Lake there is one of those. Similarly, if you are fond of fishing, the Lake Mahodand offers you a lot of opportunities. The pass is obtainable from the PTDC resort of Kalam having paid the fee.
